Q: What are your New Years resolutions?

A: I have things I want to accomplish in 2009. I suppose you could call them resolutions. It seems like attaching the word resolution to something makes people instantly think failure. If I say I want to lose 20 lbs, no one blinks and most people are supportive. If I say, my resolution is to lose 20 lbs, I get that “yeah right, like that’s gonna happen” look. So, I don’t know that I’ll be making resolutions this year.

We just got back from a breakfast Christmas get together with the other side of my in-laws. I’m so lucky. Both sides of my in-laws are so nice and easy to get along with.

Afterwards, we stopped by my father-in-laws place of business and got to see an old friend. I thought the kiddo was gonna knock him over when she literally jumped into his arms to squeeze the life out of him.

The kiddo came home last night. She spent the first part of Christmas with her dad. I almost feel bad that we’re not celebrating until the 31st, but she doesn’t seem overly anxious. Overtly, anyway.

I haven’t had time to take any pictures of the snow this year, so here are some pictures taken around this time last year. Sorry guys. I know some of you have seen these before, but maybe we’ll have another snow storm after the first of the year so I can post some more snow pictures for those of you that are snow impared.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Yule, and all other seasons greetings to everyone.

We’re kidless this year so we’re not celebrating with my family until the 31st. Kind of a Christmas and New Years bash at the same time, which should be fun.

We just got back from one side of my in-laws. They have an incredible place out in the country with horses, goats, chickens, and a dog. It’s beautiful out there and their house is huge and gorgeous. I wanted to steal my mother-in-laws kitchen and walk-in closet, but we couldn’t figure out a way to get them home. Bah!

I often feel very awkward around so many people I don’t know, but it was good to see everyone again. My mother-in-law is an amazingly sweet woman and I’ve missed seeing her.

Hope everyone is safe, warm, and having a blast with friends and family.

Orders are starting to slow down now and we’re prepping for the end of the year closing. Looking back, this year has been better than the previous and we’re already making plans for next year. Along with new product suggestions and new promotion ideas, we’ve been looking back on what worked and what didn’t in 2008. We’ve learned a lot this year and we have a lot of changes and additions in the works.

Thanks to everyone that made 2008 such a great year for CMH.

Q: What was the first podcast you ever listened to?

A: Honestly, I’m not sure anymore. There are three podcasts I started listening to in the beginning, but I have no idea which one was actually “the first” podcast I listened to. TWiT was probably the actual first. Wingin’ It was one of the first for sure, and possibly Geek Fu Action Grip. Wingin’ It introduced me to tons of other podcasts and later, podiobooks. Wingin’ It, aside from giving me hours of entertainment, helped me find many incredible podcasts and podcasters.

Obviously, I didn’t get the podcast out and it’s looking like Jan or Feb before I’ll get a chance to get to it. This Christmas selling season has been crazy busy so far and I haven’t had time to do… well… anything. I really wanted to get this started in 2008, but there’s simply no time. Next year, I’ll make sure I do something to cover this time of the year with podcasts. Not sure what yet. I’m hoping to have a bunch banked, but if not… I’ll figure out something.

I can’t spend too much time on this update, so here are some highlights from the past couple of months along with rambling thoughts and questions:

On October 31st, my husband and I celebrated our 10th. He had to work that night, which sucked… but we’ve been married for a decade now. Seems like just yesterday…

Driving from facility to facility, I almost hit a deer taller than my car. I was only a few feet from it when the car screeched to a halt. My daughter was in the car at the time and we’re both paranoid now.

My daughter turns 16 in two days. Help me!

I have 3 random questions left. Send me more! It’s something quick and easy I can do.

Do people seem more reserved this Christmas season or is that only in my area?

Got the expansion for WoW, but I haven’t had time to play much. However, I did complete all the Death Knight quests and I have to say… incredible job Blizzard! That was the coolest set of quests I’ve ever done. More like that please! Our family plays WoW together so they make me take a break and play with them from time to time, but they’re understanding when I tell them I simply can’t.

I can’t think of anything else at the moment. I’ll try to throw more short updates up here to at least let everyone know I’m still kicking.

Now… back to paperwork!
