Apparently, I was more than ready for 2009 in December.

You see, I usually write a blog entry, then schedule it to post for anywhere from an hour to a day in the future so I can go back and edit it before it posts just in case I think of something else, want to word something differently, or remove something I shouldn’t have said. For some reason, I scheduled a bunch of blog entries for December of 2009. I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. Oops.

So, several past blog entries should be showing up here in a few minutes.

It’s been awhile. I finally stopped waiting on PodPress to be fixed and found a temporary fix, so Episode 2 is FINALLY up.

I had planned on podcasting anyway during this downtime, but I kept thinking it would be fixed soon. Soon became longer and longer until yesterday, I realized it had been forever since the last one was recorded.

So… now I’m going to get back to podcasting again. Next time, not only do I wait to install an update, but I do NOT wait for someone to fix the problem before finding a way around it. Lesson learned.

Congrats to everyone that won a Parsec this weekend. However, most of the nomines were names I’d seen many times up for many awards. It makes me wonder, who are the underdogs out there that people are really enjoying… shows that aren’t necessarily new, but are underrated.

By now everyone knows I’m a Jack Jaffee fan, but another I’d throw out there is Basil Sands. I really enjoyed 65 Below and am currently listening to Karl’s Last Flight. You can find them both at http://www.podiobooks.com

So, who are your underrated underdog picks? Post a comment or email me and let me know!

Podpress is not working in WP 2.6… at least from what I see on the mightyseek forums. It is impossible to add media files at all with podpress for tons of podcasters that have already upgraded to WP 2.6.

So now… it’s not working with podango or locally for me. Ugh!

Here’s the current thread: Podpress is broken Still reading through it myself.

It looks like Mightyseek is due to release an update around the 28th. So, no podcast until then. I have one waiting for the fix, probably two by then.

I might set up something else in the meantime if I have some extra time on my hands this week. I know better than to upgrade to the newest version of something right when it comes out. :(

Ok, here’s the problem. I’m using podpress and podango, but the files I upload aren’t showing up at podango. I uploaded a file manually at podango instead of using podpress and podpress isn’t linking correctly to it.

It was working… and now it isn’t. Ugh. I have no idea how to fix it and searching both podango and the web hasn’t netted any help. If anyone stumbles in here that can help, please get in touch with me.

For now, I’m gonna get back to work and try again later. Sorry. :(

Nothing I’ve tried so far has worked. I’m gonna take a break and try again later. I’m sorry everyone… for the life of me, I cannot figure out what could have possibly happened.

Sorry to those of you that tried to get the podcast this morning. I have no idea what the problem is, but I’m working on it.

Well, uploads aren’t working for some reason.  I’ll try a work around in the morning.  Hopefully, I’ll get it to work somehow.  This is supposed to be a lot easier than this, right?  :)

Well, the feed was broken, then I fixed it… then it was broken again… then I fixed it again… now it’s broken again.

I thought the error was a line break that the feed didn’t like; however, when I disabled a different plugin the feed validated again. It still didn’t work though.

I just checked it and now it’s working again? Geez… hopefully it’s permanently fixed this time.

I haven’t decided exactly how this is going to work. Originally, I wasn’t going to start podcasting from this site, but I’m not sure I want to go through all that again (trying to get the feed to work that is). I guess I’ll decide what I’m going to do later.

Welp, I’m gonna leave it alone for awhile and see if it breaks again. I’ll upload another test later today.

Cross your fingers for me!

Well, I found one that functions perfectly fine.  I’m not completely pleased with it, but it will work for now.  Hopefully, I’ll figure out how to make them myself at some point.  For now… it’s not dark in color, which my eyes don’t appreciate, but I’ll see what I can do about it after I get several other websites that are a little more pressing done.

In the meantime, I’ll be updating here and there as I have time.  I still have a lot of things to figure out before I get the podcast up and running.  I’ll probably start a test podcast here on the personal site to test everything out, then I’ll get to work on the podcast website/blog as soon as I think I’ve got it mostly down.  It’s going to be a few months though I’m sure.  I still need to get my podcasting gear even.  :)

For some reason, every theme I use winds up breaking.  All of the themes but one, one I don’t want to use in fact, stops allowing me to do anything with the right sidebar.  It’s also running veeeeeeery slowly, just like Drupal was and I have no idea why.  I don’t know what I’m going to do at this point.  I just want a dark theme that’s easier on the eyes, but not too overwhelming.  Ugh.
