We will also be adding this image to new products on CafePress momentarily for even more choices.
Cuttings from a flowering Camellia Japonica bushI was cutting the bush back as it was intruding on the walkway and when I looked down at the pile I’d made on the concrete, this is what I saw. I just had to take a picture. The flowers are pretty, but the bush loves to spread all over the place. I loathe cutting it while it’s blooming, but sometimes it has to be done or become a trip hazard.
Products made from a picture of a single flower from the bush are also offered here on CafePress.
For more products with this image, check out the Cuttings page on CafePress.
This image is also featured on a few products at Zazzle with more to come, so make sure to check back.

Ocean Jasper/Agate or Moon Jewel Jasper – ORBICULAR
Stone: 2 inches
Pendant: 3 inches
Made with 22 gauge square non tarnish copper
(can come with or without black cord)
Properties:
Ocean Jasper is very soothing and helps to lift the veil so one can see how to love one’s self as well as others. It is very healing of the emotions and brings peace of mind. It helps with acceptance of responsibility and increases patience. Ocean jasper heightens awareness in addition to balancing and stabilizing one’s ability to handle the input from increased awareness. The circular patterns on ocean jasper symbolize and help us realize that we are all interconnected and nature is a cyclical pattern. It can also help with circular breathing for healing or meditation. Being a type of jasper, ocean jasper is a very protective stone, and any orbs (“eyes”) enhance this in regard to protection from the “evil eye.”
Ocean Jasper is a stone of joy and high spirits. It opens one’s awareness to the benevolent aspects of life and lifts one’s mood through its positive vibrations. When one is under its influence, it is difficult to take one’s problems with dissatisfaction as seriously as one normally does. Ocean Jasper helps lift the veil of negativity which many people unconsciously wear over their eyes, and when this veil is lifted, it is much easier to see and appreciate the many blessings of life. Ocean Jasper stimulates the solar plexus, heart and throat chakras with its beneficial vibrations, conveying the urge to feel, speak and act more positively, it supports the expression of love in one’s words and deeds, and it helps one to realize what and whom one truly loves. It banishes complacency and the habit of taking one’s loved ones, health, prosperity or security for granted. It is brings one’s consciousness to the present moment, relieving worry about the future or bitterness about the past. It allows the release of stress and escapism, helping one understand the value of the here and now.
Type:
In 1997 a gorgeous new find from Madagascar called “Ocean Jasper.” (Some are calling it “Orbicular Jasper” in reference to its colorful orbs, and some “Moon Jewel Jasper.”) But “Ocean Jasper” seems most fitting, as it was found right along the shore, actually being covered by water at high tide, and only accessible at low tide!
Ocean Jasper is an agate by the standard definition (agate being translucent and jasper being opaque). Ocean Jasper is rarely opaque. It was decided to call the material a jasper because rhyolitic patterns have been associated with the jasper category in the past and because “jasper” is listed as the mineral resource in the mining claims owned by Madagascar Minerals.

Apparently, I decided I didn’t have enough to do, so I needed a few more websites. I recently re-launched Crescent Moon Haberdashery as a blog to showcase my CafePress store. I’ve been selling products with photography, artwork, and graphic work on CafePress for years and will soon be trying my hand at Zazzle as well. Crescent Moon Haberdashery is also featuring some beautiful jewelry from Aether Designs.
My mother and I have looked for a way to share recipes and finally decided, after searching for and not finding a solution we liked, that we might as well share them with everyone. Thus, I launched Community Cookbook a few weeks ago. It’s still a work in progress, but hopefully I’ll get the bugs ironed out. I went for an actual community setting and it isn’t working quite the way I would like it to. The name might change, but Community Cookbook works for now. We have a couple of recipes up with many more to come in the future.
After I feel like I have Crescent Moon Haberdashery and Community Cookbook well underway and help Jane with The Diary of Jane, I’m going to re-launch Macabre Manor. Macabre Manor has needed a lot of work for a long time and I hate to go the blog route with it, but I don’t think I’ll ever get anything done with it if I don’t turn it into a blog. Hand editing pages is so 1990′s, right? I’m still unsure I can make it do what I want, but I’m going to try. I can never make Macabre Manor what it once was, but I can do something with it… when I figure out exactly what that is, I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, this site will become my master feed as it were and my writing blog. I’ll be cross-posting things here from the other sites for the time being, except for the cooking site that is. I might make a post with recipes that have posted for the week, but I’m not going to post all the recipes both places. If cross-posting everything stops making sense or becomes too much, I’ll stop, but for now almost everything I do will still be on this blog. Why? For people who want everything but don’t want to visit tons of sites to get it.
As for the podcast, I gave up on it a long time ago. I wanted to podcast, but the more I tried the more I figured out that I didn’t really have anything to talk about. Maybe some day.
